Red Sox Delay Sonny Gray's Start Against Mariners

The Boston Red Sox have not confirmed a starting pitcher for their game on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners, and ace Sonny Gray will not be on the mound.

Gray, who has a record of 16-4 and an ERA of 2.82, was originally slated to start but will instead rest and pitch on Saturday in Baltimore. He expressed that he feels fine and believes the extra days off will help him recover fully.

Interim manager Chad Tracy noted the importance of allowing Gray some recovery time as the season progresses. The Red Sox may opt for a bullpen game or call up a pitcher from Triple-A Worcester for Tuesday's matchup. Seattle's Bryan Woo is set to start, coming off a loss that extended the Mariners' losing streak to five games.
