Red Sox Reinforce Bullpen by Adding Seth Martinez

Following the conclusion of their nine-game winning streak, the Boston Red Sox have made a change to their bullpen by selecting the contract of right-hander Seth Martinez from Triple-A Worcester.

In conjunction with this move, the team has optioned left-hander Raymond Burgos back to Triple-A. Martinez, who is 31 years old, is poised to make his debut with the Red Sox and has a career record of 6-6 with a 4.00 ERA over 117 relief appearances with the Houston Astros and Miami Marlins. This season, he has recorded a 5.55 ERA in 33 appearances at Worcester.

Burgos, 27, recently made his Red Sox debut and had two three-inning relief outings. He previously pitched one inning for the San Francisco Giants in 2024. The Red Sox had achieved 32 wins in their last 37 games before suffering a 7-3 defeat to the Athletics.
