Red Sox Sign John Brebbia to Minor League Contract

This marks a return to Boston for Brebbia, who was born and raised in the area. He previously joined the Red Sox on a minor league deal last September but did not pitch for Triple-A Worcester due to health issues.

The 36-year-old began the season with Colorado but was released before the regular season started. After a brief stint with the Minnesota Twins, he opted out of his contract in May. Brebbia had a mixed performance in the majors but showed improvement in the minors, posting a 1.62 ERA and a 30.2% strikeout rate with Albuquerque.
