Red Star Belgrade Fans Display Tifo of Ratko Mladic Before Derby Victory

Before their derby match against Partizan Belgrade on Sunday night, fans of Red Star Belgrade revealed a tifo featuring Ratko Mladic, a convicted war criminal. Red Star ultimately secured a 2-1 victory in the match.

Mladic, who passed away in a United Nations prison in August, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 for genocide and war crimes committed during the Yugoslav wars from 1992 to 1995. His actions included the Srebrenica massacre, where 8,000 men and boys were killed, and the siege of Sarajevo, resulting in over 10,000 deaths.

This incident follows a previous fine of 90,000 euros imposed on Red Star by UEFA for a similar display during a Europa League match against FC Viktoria Plzen. The club's social media shared a video of the tifo, which included a minute's silence for Mladic, prompting a strong reaction from Bosnia-Herzegovina's national team account.
