Reds Activate Brandon Williamson from Injured List

The Cincinnati Reds have activated left-handed pitcher Brandon Williamson from the 60-day injured list, as announced by the team. Williamson had been sidelined since April due to a shoulder injury, and with an opening on the 40-man roster, no additional moves were necessary. The team also recalled infielder Juan Brito.

Williamson began his rehabilitation assignment in early August, making six appearances across two minor league levels with a 5.94 ERA. He reached the maximum 30 days allowed for rehab. The 28-year-old pitcher had a challenging start to the season, struggling with a 6.19 ERA and more walks than strikeouts before his injury.

Moving forward, the Reds plan to have Williamson pitch alongside young right-hander Chase Burns, with Williamson set to start against the Padres on Wednesday. Burns has had a successful season, boasting a 2.79 ERA over 26 starts. Brito, who joined the Reds in a trade, has experience at multiple infield positions.
