Krall, who is entering his seventh season in his current role, previously served as the team's general manager. The Reds had higher expectations this season after making the postseason last year, but their performance has declined significantly, with a record of 50-69 over their last 119 games.

Despite some standout performances, including potential Rookie of the Year candidate Sal Stewart, the team has struggled overall. Krall acknowledged the need for changes to improve the roster and emphasized that the responsibility for the team's performance lies with him.
