Reds Set to Activate Graham Ashcraft from Injured List
The Cincinnati Reds are anticipated to activate right-handed pitcher Graham Ashcraft from the 60-day injured list on Sunday. Ashcraft has been sidelined for over three months due to a right forearm UCL sprain.
To facilitate his return, the Reds will need to make a corresponding roster move, as their 40-man roster is currently full. Spencer Steer, who is unlikely to return this season due to a right wrist injury, may be transferred to the 60-day IL to create the necessary space.
Before his injury, Ashcraft had a 3.33 ERA in 26 appearances this season and showed significant improvement in his strikeout rate. The Reds, currently seven games out of a Wild Card spot, are expected to benefit from Ashcraft's return, particularly as their bullpen has struggled this season.
