Reform MP Sarah Pochin's Children Urge Her to Leave Politics Due to Safety Concerns

Sarah Pochin, the MP for Runcorn and Helsby, has shared that her children have urged her to leave politics due to concerns for her safety. This comes as all eight MPs from Reform UK are now under 24-hour security following the murder of Ann Widdecombe, a former party member, at her home in July.

Pochin expressed gratitude for the security measures but noted the significant impact on her family life. Her sons, aged 25 and 27, become upset when discussing her safety, emphasizing that her life is not worth the risk. She described a recent holiday in north Wales where she was accompanied by security guards, highlighting the intrusive nature of these precautions.

In addition to her safety concerns, Pochin remarked on the chauvinism she has encountered in Westminster, calling it the most chauvinistic environment she has ever worked in. She encourages women to join her and other female MPs in addressing these issues within Parliament.
