Reinier de Ridder Shifts to Light Heavyweight and Changes Training Camp
Reinier de Ridder, the Dutch fighter, is moving up to the light heavyweight division in the UFC, preparing for his debut against Roman Dolidze. This decision comes after de Ridder faced challenges in the middleweight category, where he struggled with weight cuts and recovery during training.
Before joining the UFC, de Ridder had notable success in the light heavyweight division, achieving four consecutive stoppage victories and winning a championship title in ONE Championship. Despite his achievements, he initially started his UFC career at middleweight due to the appealing matchups available in that weight class.
In addition to changing weight classes, de Ridder has also switched training camps from Kill Cliff FC to American Top Team. He expressed satisfaction with his new environment and the coaching he is receiving from Mike Brown and Muhammed Lawal. As he prepares for his fight against Dolidze, de Ridder aims to showcase his skills and secure a decisive victory.
