Renewed Appeal for Justice in Diane Sindall Murder Case

As the 40th anniversary of Diane Sindall's murder approaches, detectives in Merseyside are renewing their appeal to find her killer. Sindall, a 21-year-old florist, was brutally murdered in Birkenhead on August 2, 1986, while preparing for her upcoming wedding.

Peter Sullivan, wrongfully convicted of her murder, spent 38 years in prison before new DNA evidence led to his exoneration last year. Following the reopening of the case, Merseyside Police have received over 200 calls and are actively pursuing leads. A £20,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information that results in the arrest and conviction of the true perpetrator.

Detective Superintendent Rachel Wilson emphasized the importance of finding Sindall's murderer, noting that a new DNA profile from evidence collected at the crime scene is crucial to the investigation. Despite having eliminated 575 individuals from suspicion, 32 remain under review. Wilson remains hopeful that someone with knowledge of the case will come forward.
