Reuben Cotter Suspended for NRL Finals Opening Week

Reuben Cotter of the North Queensland Cowboys has been suspended for the opening week of the NRL finals after receiving a charge for a high tackle during a match against the Raiders.

Cotter was penalized with a grade two careless high tackle charge for his contact with Josh Papali'i during the first play of the game. The Cowboys are set to face Cronulla in an elimination final next weekend.

Despite the suspension, Papali'i was able to return to the game after passing his head injury assessment. The Cowboys may consider challenging the charge, as they will be playing in a sudden-death match regardless of the outcome.
