Reuben Ward Aims for Success at Artistic Gymnastics World Championships
Reuben Ward, a 21-year-old gymnast, made history by winning Scotland's first all-around gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer. He has now been selected for Great Britain's team for the upcoming Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, marking the first time a Scot has been included in the team since 2017.
Ward achieved his primary goal of becoming a Commonwealth champion and is now focused on helping his team secure a podium finish and qualify for the Olympics. He also won a silver medal in the pommel horse event during the Commonwealth Games.
Although Ward will not compete in the all-around event at the World Championships, he plans to focus on his stronger apparatus to support the team. He expressed confidence in the strength of the British team, believing they can exceed expectations and showcase their abilities on the world stage.
