Rex Hoggard Suggests Six Players for Team USA at Presidents Cup

Brandt Snedeker is set to announce his captain's picks for the United States team at the 2026 Presidents Cup, which will take place at Medinah Country Club in September.

He needs to select six PGA Tour players to join the six automatic qualifiers: Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley, and Collin Morikawa.

Rex Hoggard has identified four players he believes should be automatic selections: Chris Gotterup, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and J.J. Spaun, provided Spaun is healthy after withdrawing from the Tour Championship. Hoggard also mentioned Patrick Cantlay and Ryan Gerard as strong candidates for the final two spots, with Gerard recently finishing third at East Lake. Hoggard favors Cantlay for his experience and past performance alongside Schauffele.
