WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley has confirmed her recent knee surgery after being out of action for two months due to a slightly torn meniscus. She shared the news on Instagram, expressing that surgery was not her first choice but became necessary.

Ripley noted that after nearly 14 years in wrestling and a lifetime in sports, the injury required surgical intervention. She is now focused on recovery and returning to the ring. WWE General Manager Adam Pearce announced that Ripley would miss the upcoming SummerSlam event due to her injury, but there is hope for her return soon.

In her absence, Chelsea Green has been named the interim WWE Women's Champion after winning a match at SummerSlam. The future match between Green and Ripley to determine the undisputed champion remains uncertain following Ripley's surgery.
