Richard Adonis Joins WWE ID Program Following Independent Wrestling Success
Richard Adonis has been recruited into WWE's ID program, a notable achievement in his independent wrestling journey. His career began in 2017, and he has since participated in several wrestling promotions.
Adonis has wrestled for organizations such as All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, TNA Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and the National Wrestling Alliance. In 2022, he appeared on AEW Dark, teaming with Jay Marte and Jarett Diaz, although they were defeated by Angelico, Luther, and Serpentico. He also took part in a WWE NXT dark match in September 2026 after attending tryouts during WWE’s SummerSlam week.
His recruitment into the WWE ID program occurred on October 12 at a WWN Live event in Clearwater, Florida, where WWE coach Timothy Thatcher was present. The ID program, established in 2024, aims to support promising independent wrestlers by providing resources and opportunities for skill development, potentially leading to a role in WWE NXT. Adonis joins a growing list of talents in this initiative, which has seen recent changes, including the exit of former WWE ID Women’s Champion Laynie Luck.
