Richarlison's Struggles Continue as He Plays for Tottenham's U21s
Richarlison has found himself playing for Tottenham's under-21 team after being excluded from the Premier League squad this season. The Brazilian forward, who joined Spurs for £60 million from Everton, scored a goal in a recent EFL Trophy match against Cheltenham Town.
This match marked Richarlison's second appearance of the season and his first since late August. He also contributed a penalty in a shootout that ended in a loss for Spurs' reserves. Manager Roberto de Zerbi clarified that the decision to leave Richarlison out of the squad was not his own, following a failed transfer attempt back to Everton.
Tottenham has struggled offensively this season, currently holding the title of the lowest-scoring team in the Premier League. Richarlison's absence from the squad has raised questions, especially given his previous performance as the team's leading scorer last season. His future remains uncertain as he continues to play in lower-tier competitions.
