Richmond Bids Farewell to Star Veterans Nathan Broad and Dion Prestia

Richmond has bid farewell to two of its star veterans, defender Nathan Broad and midfielder Dion Prestia, after their last game for the club at the MCG. The duo played their final game together in a 49-point loss against St Kilda.

Broad and Prestia, who have six premiership medallions between them, reflected on their time at Richmond, expressing their gratitude to the club and its people. They both hope to continue their AFL careers in 2027, but at another club. The Tigers attempted to give Broad a memorable farewell by swinging him forward late in the game, but he was unable to kick his first goal at the MCG.

The farewell game also coincided with key forward Tom Lynch's 250th match, and he is expected to receive a one-year extension from the Tigers for 2027. Broad and Prestia's departures mark the end of an era for Richmond, but both players are looking forward to their next chapter, with Broad and his family moving to Perth and Prestia hoping to prove he still has something to offer as a footballer.
