Richmond Tigers Secure Tom Lynch and Sam Lalor for Future Seasons
The Richmond Tigers have announced the re-signing of veteran forward Tom Lynch, who will continue his career into the 2027 season, marking his 17th year in the league. Additionally, young player Sam Lalor, the team's No.1 pick from the 2024 AFL Draft, has also signed a contract extension, ensuring both players will remain with the club until at least 2029.
Lynch's commitment comes as Richmond undergoes a rebuilding phase under coach Adem Yze. The club's Executive General Manager of Football Talent, Blair Hartley, emphasized Lynch's importance to the team and his role in mentoring younger players in the forward line. Lynch recently celebrated his 250th game, contributing a goal and six disposals.
Alongside Lynch and Lalor, fellow 2024 draft class member Harry Armstrong has also secured a new deal, joining Taj Hotton and Jonty Faull in commitments that extend through 2029. The Tigers recently bid farewell to premiership players Nathan Broad and Dion Prestia, who played their last game against St Kilda.
