Ricky Tiedemann Makes MLB Debut with Blue Jays

The Blue Jays optioned right-handed reliever Chase Lee back to Triple-A after he struggled in recent outings, including allowing four earned runs in a loss to the Boston Red Sox. Tiedemann, a left-handed pitcher, has overcome a lengthy rehabilitation process following Tommy John surgery in July 2024 and was activated off the injured list on August 5.

At just 23 years old, Tiedemann is expected to enhance the Blue Jays' bullpen, which has been overworked. He possesses a fastball that can reach 99 mph and an elite slider. His performance will be crucial as the Blue Jays aim for a wild-card spot, having won five consecutive series and nine games in August.
