Ricky Tiedemann Recalled by Blue Jays for MLB Debut

The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled left-handed pitcher Ricky Tiedemann from Triple-A Buffalo, positioning him for his Major League Baseball debut. This move comes as right-hander Chase Lee was optioned to make room for Tiedemann.

Tiedemann, 23, was selected by the Blue Jays in the third round of the 2021 draft and quickly made a name for himself in the minor leagues with impressive strikeout rates. However, his career faced challenges after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2024, which limited his appearances that season. Following a year of recovery, he was added to the Blue Jays' 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

After experiencing additional elbow soreness during spring training, Tiedemann began a rehab assignment in June and returned to Triple-A Buffalo last week, setting the stage for his anticipated debut in the MLB.
