Riley Herbst Reveals Concussion Kept Him Out of Daytona Race

Riley Herbst, a driver for 23XI Racing, has confirmed that a concussion sidelined him from competing at Daytona International Speedway last weekend. The injury was a result of a crash at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the previous week, where he collided with the wall after contact with another driver.

Although Herbst passed concussion protocols earlier in the week and qualified for the race, he experienced severe symptoms on Race Day, leading him to withdraw and allow Harrison Burton to take his place. Herbst noted that he felt fine immediately after the crash, but his symptoms fluctuated, making it difficult to predict his condition.

Following his withdrawal, Herbst announced a move to Legacy Motor Club for the next season. He has been symptom-free during practice activities and is hopeful about his participation in the upcoming Southern 500, although he remains cautious about his health.
