Rishabh Pant Becomes India's Leading Wicketkeeper Run-Scorer in Away Tests

Rishabh Pant has set a new record by surpassing MS Dhoni to become India's highest run-scorer as a designated wicketkeeper in away or neutral Tests. This milestone was achieved during the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, where Pant crossed the 2,500-run mark.

Pant reached this achievement with a total of 2,501 runs, surpassing Dhoni's previous record of 2,496 runs. He accomplished this feat at an average of nearly 42, which is significantly higher than Dhoni's average of 32.84. Former wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer follows in third place with 1,209 runs.

The record-setting performance came after Pant faced an injury scare when he was struck on the arm by a delivery from Sri Lanka's Lahiru Kumara. Despite the discomfort, Pant returned to the field to help stabilize India's innings after losing a wicket.
