Rishabh Pant Prepares for Sri Lanka Test Series with MS Dhoni
Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter, is preparing for a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, training with former captain MS Dhoni in Ranchi.
A photo shared by ex-India spinner Shahbaz Nadeem on social media captured the duo during a gym session, with Dhoni in a blue tracksuit and Pant in a black T-shirt and shorts. Although Pant is currently not part of India's white-ball team, he remains a vital member of the Test squad led by Shubman Gill.
Pant's recent performance in the IPL 2026 season was underwhelming, scoring 312 runs at an average of 28.36, contributing to Lucknow Super Giants finishing last in the standings. His last competitive match was a Test against Afghanistan in June. India needs to secure seven wins in their remaining nine Tests to maintain their chances in the World Test Championship, making the Sri Lanka series crucial for their campaign.
