Rivers and Viney Join West Coast Eagles Following Strong Ties

Trent Rivers and Jack Viney have officially joined the West Coast Eagles, a move facilitated by their established connections with coach Andrew McQualter and midfield mentor Sam Radford, both of whom previously worked at Melbourne.

The duo played significant roles in Rivers' development and collaborated closely with Viney. Their reunion in Western Australia was influenced by these prior relationships, which Viney noted helped initiate the transition.

Viney has signed a four-year contract, with plans to spend half of it in a coaching role, pending AFL approval. He has expressed a long-standing interest in coaching, having assisted with development during his injury-plagued season. Rivers, reflecting on his time under McQualter, emphasized that the coach was a major factor in his decision to return to his home state.
