RJ City Discusses Transition from WWE to AEW
RJ City has transitioned from WWE to AEW, where he has taken on significant roles, including interviewer for the online program Hey[EW!] and a member of AEW's creative team. Previously, City worked in a lesser capacity at WWE, where he was hired during the pandemic to create content from home.
While at WWE, he produced comedy videos and a special titled WrestleMania: After Dark before being let go along with the digital department. Shortly after, he tweeted about a pitch he had for WWE that was never utilized, which led to an unexpected opportunity with AEW.
City recounted that within an hour of his tweet, he received a direct message from AEW owner Tony Khan, who expressed interest in his idea and invited him to join AEW. This interaction ultimately led to the creation of Hey[EW!].
