Road Dogg to Return to Wrestling After 11-Year Hiatus
WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg is preparing for his return to wrestling after more than a decade away from the ring. His last official match occurred on January 25, 2015, during the WWE Royal Rumble, where he and Billy Gunn, known as the New Age Outlaws, faced The Ascension.
Road Dogg's comeback is scheduled for October 22, 2023, at Jeff Jarrett's All-Star Super Slam in Hendersonville, Tennessee. This event coincides with the annual Hendersonville Pig Fest and celebrates Jarrett's 40 years in professional wrestling. Road Dogg will team up with Jarrett and Jay Lethal to take on QT Marshall, Elijah Drago, and Brady Booker.
The announcement of Road Dogg's return is notable, especially since Billy Gunn had previously indicated that a reunion of the New Age Outlaws was unlikely due to Road Dogg's physical condition after years in the sport. Despite stepping back from in-ring competition, Road Dogg has remained active in the wrestling community, having left WWE's creative team earlier this year and engaging in discussions about a potential role with TNA, which ultimately did not materialize.
