Rob Manfred Discusses MLB Lockout and Little League Classic Plans

During the Little League Classic game between the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred spoke on ESPN about the upcoming labor negotiations and the event's future.

Manfred indicated that a potential lockout could occur when the current collective bargaining agreement expires on December 1, 2026, but reassured fans that the 2027 season might not be affected. He noted that regular meetings with players are ongoing, emphasizing the league's intention to reach an agreement and play baseball next year.

Additionally, Manfred announced that the next Little League Classic is scheduled for August 19, featuring the Chicago Cubs and Toronto Blue Jays. He expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the positive interactions between players and young fans. The Little League Classic has been held annually since its inception in 2017, except for the 2020 season due to the pandemic.
