Robbie Avila Faces Challenges in Potential College Return
U.S. District Court Judge Charlotte Sweeney recently issued a preliminary injunction in Colorado, allowing athletes from the high school Class of 2022, including Lakers rookie Robbie Avila, to regain eligibility after running out of their college eligibility.
Following this decision, Avila was considering his options regarding a potential return to college basketball. However, a subsequent clarification from Sweeney indicated that the injunction does not alter NCAA transfer rules, meaning Avila would have to return to his former team, Saint Louis, if he opts for college.
This development limits Avila's choices, as he previously might have considered transferring to a different school. The situation suggests that he is now more inclined to remain with the Lakers rather than pursue a return to college basketball.
