Robby Foley and Turner Motorsport Prepare for Key Championship Challenge at VIR
Robby Foley and Turner Motorsport are gearing up for an important race at Virginia International Raceway this weekend, as they aim to improve their standing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Currently in third place in the GTD class, Foley and his co-driver Patrick Gallagher are just two points behind second-place Winward Racing and 26 points behind the leader, Dudu Barrichello.
Foley, who has a successful history at the 3.27-mile track, including a class victory in 2020, has maintained consistency this season with two podium finishes and four top-five results. He noted that the team has focused on steady execution to remain competitive, despite not yet securing a win this year.
As the championship race tightens, Foley acknowledged the need for a more aggressive approach in the final three rounds. He respects his competitors, particularly Winward Racing, which has set a high standard in the category. Foley expressed optimism about their chances, emphasizing the importance of staying in the top five and potentially achieving podium finishes as they strive for the championship title.
