Rockies Acquire Hayden Harris from Braves
The Colorado Rockies have claimed left-handed pitcher Hayden Harris off waivers from the Atlanta Braves, as announced on September 4, 2026. Harris was designated for assignment by Atlanta earlier in the week.
At 27 years old, Harris has a limited major league experience, having made three appearances for the Braves last season, during which he allowed one earned run in 2 2/3 innings. He has spent the entirety of 2026 in the minors, where he has accumulated a 3.65 earned run average over 207 1/3 innings since 2022, striking out 35.1% of batters faced but also walking 12.6%.
Despite a challenging year that led to his removal from the Braves' roster, the Rockies are looking to bolster their pitching staff, which has struggled with a collective 5.42 ERA this season. Harris can be optioned to the minors for two additional seasons, allowing Colorado to develop his skills further.
