Rockies Designate Edouard Julien for Assignment, Recall Zac Veen

The Colorado Rockies have announced the designation of infielder Edouard Julien for assignment while recalling outfielder Zac Veen from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Julien, who has struggled this season with a batting average of .208 and three home runs in 276 plate appearances, has been the team's primary second baseman. His performance has been marked by shaky defense and a high strikeout rate. The Rockies acquired Julien in an offseason trade with the Twins, but his lack of production has led to this decision.

In contrast, Veen, a former top prospect, has had a strong season in Triple-A, hitting .327 with 24 home runs in 100 games. After a disappointing stint in the majors last year, he has shown significant improvement, making him a valuable addition to the Rockies' outfield mix.
