Rockingham Speedway Excluded from 2027 NASCAR Schedule
Rockingham Speedway has once again been removed from the NASCAR Cup schedule for the 2027 season, as confirmed by Track Enterprises in a recent press release.
The track, which has attempted several comebacks in recent years, has faced financial instability under the ownership of the IHRA. Track Enterprises expressed its commitment to finding opportunities to revive racing at Rockingham in future seasons.
Rockingham Speedway originally opened in 1965 and lost its Cup race after the 2004 season. It briefly returned for Truck races in 2012 and 2013, and had a race date in 2025, but will not continue into 2027. Track Enterprises President Bob Sargent acknowledged the incredible support from fans over the past two years and expressed disappointment over the track's absence from the upcoming schedule.
