Roger Goodell Secures Four-Year Extension as NFL Commissioner

Roger Goodell has reached an agreement for a four-year extension as NFL commissioner, ensuring his position through the 2030 season. This extension will bring his tenure to a total of 24 years.

The announcement was made by Robert Kraft, chairman of the NFL’s compensation committee, who shared details of the agreement in a memo. The deal is structured to align Goodell's compensation with the league's long-term success, with over 95% of his pay tied to performance metrics.

Goodell, who is currently 67 years old, has been instrumental in the NFL's growth since taking over in 2006. The league has seen significant revenue increases, with $23 billion reported for the fiscal year ending in March 2025. Additionally, the NFL's international presence continues to expand, with plans for nine games overseas this year.
