Roof Collapse in Peshawar School Claims Lives of 32 Children and a Teacher
On October 15, a roof collapse at the Al-Khair Education Center in Peshawar, Pakistan, led to the deaths of at least 32 children and one teacher during morning classes.
Rescue operations involved workers and soldiers who spent several hours retrieving students from the debris, while anxious parents awaited news outside the school. Most of the deceased were under the age of 13, and at least 45 others sustained injuries, according to regional rescue officials.
The incident occurred around 8:48 a.m. local time, with reports indicating that the building's structure was weak and overloaded, contributing to the collapse.
