Rory McIlroy Shares Tips for Amateur Golfers to Hit a High Draw
Rory McIlroy, a prominent figure in golf with numerous accolades, has shared insights aimed at helping amateur golfers hit a high draw off the tee. Known for his exceptional driving skills, McIlroy has won 30 PGA Tour events and six major championships.
In a recent instructional video for Taylor Made, McIlroy explained that to successfully execute a high draw, golfers should focus on their alignment and slightly adjust the ball position in their stance. He suggested moving the ball back by about one or two inches and aiming to the right to allow the ball to curve left.
While McIlroy emphasizes the importance of hitting a draw, he also advises amateur golfers to prioritize hitting the fairway and to work with their natural swing rather than forcing a specific shot shape. He noted that many top players now prefer hitting a fade for better control.
