Rory McIlroy Supports DP World Tour's Decision on LIV Golf Players
Rory McIlroy, a six-time major champion, has endorsed the DP World Tour's decision to exclude players who join LIV Golf from competing in its events starting next year. He made these remarks during a press conference ahead of the DP World India Championship.
McIlroy stated that the DP World Tour is justified in altering its rules to safeguard its business and enhance the tour's strength. He emphasized that players must make important decisions regarding their futures in light of the financial challenges facing LIV Golf.
Despite his numerous achievements in golf, McIlroy remains eager to win the Race to Dubai for an eighth time, currently sitting third in the standings. He noted the opportunity to close the gap on the leaders in the remaining tournaments. Looking ahead, McIlroy is also focused on making the Ryder Cup team next year and continuing to perform well on the PGA Tour.
