Rory McIlroy Takes Lead at BMW Championship
Rory McIlroy has made a strong return to form, leading the first round of the BMW Championship with a score of six under par at Bellerive Country Club.
This performance follows his tie for 40th place at The Open and a 66th finish at the St Jude Championship. McIlroy reached the turn at two under and birdied the 13th hole, along with three of the last four holes, sharing the lead with American golfers Gary Woodland, Wyndham Clark, JJ Spaun, and Chris Gotterup.
McIlroy credited his swing coach Michael Bannon and caddie Harry Diamond for helping him regain his touch. He expressed that the course setup suited his game better than the previous week in Memphis, allowing him to feel more comfortable during play.
