Rory McIlroy Welcomes New LPGA Players to Boston Common Golf Team
Rory McIlroy has welcomed five new LPGA players to the Boston Common Golf team, which is part of the newly established WTGL league. This announcement was made via an Instagram message, where McIlroy addressed Lottie Woad, Megan Khang, Céline Boutier, Ina Yoon, and Chizzy Iwai, expressing excitement for their participation in the league's inaugural season.
Boston Common Golf is backed by Fenway Sports Group, which has expanded its involvement in golf by acquiring the team. The WTGL league, created in collaboration with the LPGA, is set to launch in November at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens and will feature a regular season, playoffs, and a championship series.
The league has already attracted top talent, with six of the world’s top 13 players participating. McIlroy, a co-founder of TGL, is now a prominent figure in both the men's and women's golf leagues, showing strong support for the players involved.
