Rose Zhang Selected for U.S. Solheim Cup Team
U.S. captain Angela Stanford has finalized her selections for the Solheim Cup team, choosing Rose Zhang, Lindy Duncan, and Megan Khang as her captain's picks on Monday.
This announcement followed the conclusion of the qualifying period, during which Andrea Lee and Alison Lee secured their spots based on their standings in the women's world rankings. At just 23 years old, Zhang is set to participate in her third consecutive Solheim Cup, despite not having won an LPGA tournament since May 2024. She ranked 13th in the qualifying points standings but has a strong record in match play.
Zhang previously excelled at the 2024 Solheim Cup, going 4-0-0 to help the U.S. team secure victory over Europe. Khang will be making her fifth appearance in the event, while Duncan will be competing for the first time. Duncan was close to an automatic qualifying spot but fell behind Alison Lee in the rankings. The upcoming competition is scheduled for September 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.
