Ross Chastain Secures Daytona Pole Position
Ross Chastain from Florida has earned his first Busch Light Pole position of the season and the third of his career at Daytona International Speedway. This achievement came during qualifying for the Coke Zero Sugar 400, where he recorded a top lap speed of 184.396 mph in his No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet.
Chastain's performance outpaced Chris Buescher of Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing by a narrow margin of .051 seconds. This marks Chastain's best starting position at Daytona in 16 races and his first pole since the Watkins Glen race in 2023. The race is set for Saturday night, and last year's pole winner, Ryan Blaney, will also be competing.
In the qualifying rounds, all three Trackhouse Racing Chevrolets advanced to the final session. Other notable qualifiers include Ryan Preece, who secured fourth place, and Austin Hill, who will start third. The top 16 drivers in the standings will move on to the Chase, which begins next weekend at Darlington Raceway.
