Rowan Marshall Discusses Move to Geelong and Future Partnership
Rowan Marshall, a former St Kilda player, has officially joined Geelong after being traded for Pick 14, with St Kilda receiving a 2028 third-round selection in return. His decision to move was influenced by the desire for premiership success and the opportunity to collaborate with young ruckman Mitch Edwards.
Marshall had previously attempted to join Geelong a year ago but was unable to due to contractual obligations. After the 2026 season, he expressed a renewed interest in making the move. He shared that he felt disappointed last year but is now pleased that the transfer has finally occurred.
Marshall learned about his trade while playing golf at Royal Melbourne and received a welcoming call from Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield. He is eager to integrate into the team, which also includes new recruits Toby Greene and Jordan Ridley. Marshall noted that he felt a sense of belonging to the club even before officially joining.
