Royals Add Aaron Bummer to Roster
The Kansas City Royals have announced the selection of left-hander Aaron Bummer from Triple-A Omaha, following the placement of right-hander Luinder Avila on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm tightness.
Bummer, who recently joined the Royals on a minor league deal, had previously struggled with a 7.63 ERA in 15 1/3 innings while with the Braves earlier this season. However, he has shown improvement in a limited number of appearances at Triple-A. The Royals are only responsible for paying Bummer the prorated league minimum, as the Braves are covering the remainder of his salary from a two-year, $13 million contract he signed in 2025.
Additionally, outfielder Kyle Isbel has been reinstated from the injured list after completing his rehab assignment, filling one of the roster spots created by Avila's injury and recent trades.
