Royals Expected to Place Maikel Garcia on Injured List
The Kansas City Royals are anticipated to place third baseman Maikel Garcia on the 10-day injured list following a left hamstring strain. This decision comes shortly after he returned from a two-month absence due to a hand injury.
Garcia exited the game against the Oakland Athletics after injuring himself while rounding third base. Despite his departure, the Royals secured a victory, completing a four-game sweep of the Athletics. Nick Loftin took over at third base, while John Rave filled in at right field.
This season has been challenging for Garcia, who has participated in only 73 games. He was activated from the injured list just three days prior to this latest setback. His performance includes a .269 batting average and solid defensive skills, which had positioned him as a contender for a Gold Glove award if he had remained healthy.
