Rubens Barrichello Returns to FIA World Karting at 54

Rubens Barrichello is set to make his return to FIA world-level karting at Le Mans later this month, participating in the KZ2 Masters category of the FIA Karting World Championship from September 17-20.

The 54-year-old Brazilian last competed at this level in 2016 and will drive a kart named after him, developed in collaboration with Birelart. The KZ2 Masters is designed for drivers aged 35 and older, featuring gearbox karts and attracting seasoned competitors.

Prior to the championship, Barrichello and his team participated in a preparatory race at the Le Mans circuit, where he qualified third in his group and achieved several top-five finishes in the heats. Additionally, he will demonstrate the Ferrari F2002 at Monza as part of a tribute to Michael Schumacher, linking his past in Formula 1 with his current karting endeavors.
