Rubio Refutes Claims of Intelligence Sharing Pause with Ukraine
On October 19, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the United States has not paused intelligence sharing with Ukraine, countering claims made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Zelenskiy had mentioned an interruption in intelligence sharing that was later resolved.
During a press briefing in Uzbekistan, Rubio emphasized that there was never a halt in intelligence flow, suggesting that Zelenskiy should clarify his statements. He also urged Zelenskiy to focus on ending the ongoing conflict.
This exchange highlights ongoing tensions and miscommunications between Washington and Kyiv, with Zelenskiy previously expressing concerns over US limitations on Ukraine's use of the Starshield system, which is vital for defense against Russian attacks. US officials have denied these claims as well.
