Rumors Suggest Kern Raceway Could Host NASCAR Race After Phoenix
Speculation is circulating regarding the future of NASCAR's O’Reilly Auto Parts Series schedule, particularly concerning Phoenix Raceway. Although Phoenix is confirmed to host races in 2027, rumors suggest that Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway in Bakersfield might take over one of its spring dates in 2028 or 2029.
While there is no official announcement from NASCAR or the raceways, the idea has gained traction among fans and insiders. Kern Raceway, which is already part of NASCAR's West Coast system, has been gaining prominence with various racing events, including the ARCA Menards Series West.
Kern Raceway, recently renamed after Harvick, has established itself as a significant venue for regional racing and has connections to the CARS Tour West. Despite the ongoing discussions, Phoenix remains a long-standing national NASCAR venue, and any changes to the schedule would require careful consideration.
