Ruoning Yin Claims Victory at Buick LPGA Shanghai
Ruoning Yin triumphed at the Buick LPGA Shanghai on Sunday, achieving a one-stroke victory thanks to key birdie putts on two of the last three holes. This win disrupted Hye-Jin Choi's bid for her first tournament title.
After 10 holes, Yin and Choi were tied at 8-under. Both players birdied the par-3 No. 12, but Yin's birdies at Nos. 16 and 17, along with a par on the final hole, resulted in a round of 68 and an overall score of 11-under 277. Choi, despite a birdie on No. 18, finished with a 71, totaling 10-under.
This victory marks Yin's second win of the year and her seventh career title. She previously won the Shanghai tournament in 2024 and expressed her joy about winning in front of family and fans. Amy Yang finished third at 8-under, while Rio Takeda and Carlota Ciganda rounded out the top five.
