Russell finished fifth after a strategic disagreement with his team regarding tire choices. He expressed frustration over the timing of the safety car and noted that overtaking was challenging on the track.

Hamilton, who had been performing consistently until now, faced his first retirement of the season due to a brake issue after starting fourth. He fell behind in the race and ultimately had to retire, leaving him significantly behind Antonelli in the standings. Despite the setbacks, Hamilton remains optimistic about future races, stating that the team has a good car and will continue to improve.
