Russia Conducts Strikes on Military Targets in Ukraine
On August 11, Russia's Defence Ministry announced that its forces executed overnight strikes targeting military-related transport and logistics centers in Kyiv and a steel works in Zaporizhzhia.
The attacks reportedly resulted in six fatalities and 20 injuries in Zaporizhzhia, with fires igniting in the capital, Kyiv. Both Russia and Ukraine have denied intentionally targeting civilians.
The Russian Defence Ministry claimed to have struck the Nova Poshta sorting complex in Kyiv, which it alleged was involved in the storage and distribution of dual-use goods, including drone components. Additionally, the Kyiv-3 logistics center, storing attack drones and their control stations, was also hit. In Zaporizhzhia, the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant was targeted, identified as a key producer of steel used for military applications. Furthermore, the ministry reported intercepting or destroying 396 Ukrainian drones across 15 regions during the same period.
