Russian Drone Attack on Shopping Centre in Ukraine Results in 14 Deaths
On August 21, a drone attack in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, resulted in the deaths of at least 14 individuals and left more than 120 others injured, according to local authorities.
The attack involved two Russian drones targeting a shopping centre in President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's hometown, with 22 children reported among the injured. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha noted that 29 people are in serious condition, including five children.
Zelenskiy condemned the assault as cynical and despicable, highlighting that the second drone struck shortly after the first, indicating a deliberate attempt to hit emergency responders. This incident is part of a broader escalation in Russia's air campaign against Ukraine, coinciding with ongoing ground conflicts.
